Adapted Cycling Indoors – Stay Active with Velotrain® Accessible Rollers
Adapted tricycles are ideal for those who find balancing on two wheels difficult — offering a stable, safe way to enjoy cycling at any ability or age.
Once you’ve found a trike or cycle that suits your lifestyle, Velotrain® Accessible Rollers help you get more use, training at home. Whether you’re cycling indoors during poor weather, shorter days, or periods of medical shielding, our rollers let you stay active on your own terms — then head back outdoors when you’re ready.
Velotrain® Accessible Rollers temporarily turn your adapted cycle, handbike, or trike into a static exercise machine — with:
- No mounting or axle fixing required
- No changes to your current setup
- A familiar riding feel in a stationary position
You can now integrate cycling into your daily routine — simply, independently, and consistently.
How Do Velotrain® Accessible Rollers Work?

- No attachments or alterations needed
- Fold-down ramp makes rolling on and off easy
- Lightweight and compact for simple storage
Compatible With:
- Most adapted cycles with a single drivewheel
- Wheel sizes from 12” to 27” (including 700c)
- Handcycles, recumbents, tricycles, and wheelchair attachments.
Setting Up for Static Cycling
Quick to Set Up. Easy to Use
Getting started is quick:
- Undo the Velcro strap and unfold the ramp
- Position the rollers on a level floor
- Line up your drive wheel with the ramp
- Push or pedal forward until the wheel slots into the V-groove between the guide rollers
Need more space between guide wheels?
No problem — they’re adjustable for wider tyres or freer movement (see manual for steps).
Stabilising Your Ride
Once you’re on the rollers and aligned, we recommend:
- Engaging parking brakes on your grounded wheels for added stability
- Using wheel blocks for non-drive wheels if parking brakes aren’t available
- Levelling your setup with blocks if your drive wheel feels a bit raised
These steps aren’t required but help reduce rocking as you pedal and improve comfort.
Familiar Ride, Every Time
Seamless Training, Just Like Outdoors
Once you’re familiar with setup, it becomes second nature. Just:
- Position your trike
- Choose your preferred gear, with pedal assist if needed
- Start, stop, and ride as you would outside
When you’re done:
- Release brakes (or move off blocks)
- Roll back down the ramp
- Fold and store the rollers for next time

To adjust Velotrain® Accessible Rollers for your drivewheel size:
