Keith Carter recently tested our accessible rollers and as a keen outdoor cyclist, mainly around his village, he was keen to try a new home trainer for when the weather kept him at home.
Here’s what Keith had to say about us and our product:
“Cardiovascular health is just as important to us paraplegics as anyone else, but obviously we have additional challenges in maintaining it. A regular daily routine of exercise is just as advisable for us, and my choice is to go for a daily ‘roll’ on my Klaxon Klick hand-cycle. However, living in Britain the weather is not always conducive to energetically cranking along the road. Anyone who has tried it will agree that handcycling in the rain is unpleasant, no matter how much health benefit it brings. It’s not only the rain; the effect of the cold on my paralysed lower body with its wasted muscles and poor circulation can be hours of discomfort”
Keith added “That’s where the new accessible rollers from Velotrain come in. With this clever and attractive device, we hand-cyclers can get our daily exercise even on days when the weather is working against us. I like the folding design – it takes up little space – and the black and orange colour scheme. And it works really well. Pop it out in a corner, roll on, apply the brakes and start exercising. The rollers roll, frictionless; the ones at the side keep the wheel in place even when you’re working hard. So, if you want to stay healthy and warm and dry at the same time, get a set of rollers from Velotrain”
