Paul Moore, Founder of Velotrain, recently travelled to the Netherlands to visit BerkelBike, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of innovative adapted cycling products.
Having worked with BerkelBike since 2011, Active Linx has proudly remained the company’s exclusive UK importer for more than 15 years. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to see BerkelBike’s new premises, catch up with the team, and learn more about the continued development of their products.
Paul was joined by his eldest son, Reece, who is currently studying Design & Technology at A-level. With the visit taking place during the school holidays, it was a great opportunity for Reece to see first-hand how innovative products are designed and manufactured, and how engineering can make a real difference to the lives of disabled people.
During the visit, Paul also demonstrated the Velotrain Accessible Rollers to BerkelBike CEO and designer, Rik Berkelmans. It was fantastic to see how well the Velotrain Accessible Rollers worked alongside the BerkelBike range, with the demonstration receiving some very positive feedback.
Reflecting on the visit, Paul said: “It was fantastic to visit Rik and the team once again and see how BerkelBike continues to innovate. Demonstrating the Velotrain Accessible Rollers and seeing how well they complemented the BerkelBike products was incredibly encouraging. It was also a great opportunity for Reece to experience first-hand how innovative products are developed and manufactured, and hopefully inspire him as he continues his Design & Technology studies.”
The visit highlighted the strong relationship between the two companies and reinforced a shared commitment to developing products that help more people enjoy the benefits of accessible cycling and independent living.
